SECOND GENERATION BALL 2005
SECRET COUNTRY MANSION
SATURDAY 5TH MARCH 2005

The concept behind 2nd Generation was to create a social niche for like minded Sri-Lankans and friends, whilst raising money for worthwhile causes.

In March 2004, in what was undoubtedly for the SL2UK Team one of THE highlight events of the year, 2nd Gen's first charity ball helped raise 3000GBP for the Arobanam Children Fund, a UK registered charity. The proceeds were used towards the rebuild and refurbishment of four new children's homes in Sri Lanka, including numerous beds and the much needed restoration of some of the hygiene facilities.

The funds from the 2005 ball were also sent to the ACF to help rebuild one of their homes in Mullativu and the lives of the children who survived the Tsunami of Boxing Day 2004.

Whether there will be future Balls to happen under the 2nd Generation banner is indeed a question at present unanswered...Stay tuned folks.
