Music is not what it used to be, well its not like it was when i was growing up! It used to be new, fresh and life changing (slight exaggeration) and the stuff being churned out recently has to be said is quite dull. Maybe that's the main reason why the music industry is in its slump. Everything sounds the same especially in the Asian music scene. Yes Jay Sean is doing extremely well and good on him because he's very hard working and good at reinventing himself. The new producer behind the scenes is also proving to be a good choice.
I've actually started to look further a field for my musical fix and I'm talking further than the states and India. I've actually landed in Malaysia, well KL to be precise and it's sounding good! Malaysia has a substantially large South Asian population there, with the bulk originating from the South Indian states including Tamil Nadu & Kerela. Within this community originates Hiresh Haridas aka Reshmonu, a 30 something singer-songwriter who has recently signed to Universal Music. Below are a few videos which i think you may enjoy.
