'Sri Lanka Day 2005'

@ Canada's Wonderland
The Sri Lankan community in Ontario has contributed generously to the richness of Canadian life. This is none the more evident than at Sri Lanka Day, hosted at the Wonderland Theme Park near Toronto, which gives an opportunity for Sri lankans to share their rich and diverse culture with their Canadian friends and their families.
Sri Lanka Day attracts the Tamil, Sinhalese, Muslim, Malay & Burger communities, whose tremendous assistance through participating makes the Show what it is today. There are approximately 250 dancers, singers, performers, make-up artists and crew that come together each year to ensure the crowd is entertained and the day runs smoothly. This year's show was a tremendous success drawing in more than 5000 people.
 
The show started with the traditional lighting of the lamp followed by a speech from Ambassador CS Poolokasingham - Consul General
